1984-10-21: Tech's Quin Speaks to Maine Wind Conference
PRESQUE ISLE, ME - Tech Environmental's Howard Quin delivered a presenÂtation on "Sound Permitting for Wind Projects" at the Increasing Energy Diversity and Independence: Growing Wind Power Generation in Maine conference held this week.
Dr. Quin's presentation explored and explained the process of studying and permitting sound for wind power projects, whether a project encompasses only a single turbine or a large "wind farm". The presentation examined the specifics of collecting and analyzing data, discussed noise standards in place in Maine and nearby states, and covered a series of technical challenges faced by any wind power generation project with regard to noise levels. Dr. Quin also presented examples from Tech's work on wind power projects in the Northeast to illustrate these concepts.
This was the second such presentation by Dr. Quin in recent months, luxury replica watches  following his appearance at the Windustry conference in Albany, New York earlier this year; at that time, he discussed the process of developing small-scale wind projects. He will continue to develop papers and presentations to help communities, developers and individuals learn more about the sound aspects of wind power generation.
