OUR OFFICE HAS MOVED
ACROSS THE HIGHWAY!

Tech Environmental has relocated to our new office space!
We are now based at the Hobbs Brook Office Park, on the east side of Route 128, and we are still located near the juncture of 128/95 and Trapelo Road. Click here for a map of our new office location, or click here for directions.
Our move to Hobbs Brook was heralded by a blurb in Banker & Tradesman, with a quote from our VP, Michael Lannan.
Take a look at some snapshots from the new Tech Environmental headquarters:

Tech recently hosted a meeting of the Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics Institute's Board of Advisors (for which Mr. Lannan is the Chair) in our comfortable conference room. We look forward to hosting more meetings for our projects and associations in the future.
If you're going to be in the area, let us know - we would love to have you come by for a visit.

WIND TURBINES SPROUT UP ACROSS THE NORTHEAST...

...and Tech Environmental helps them grow, offering an extensive range of environmental services to assist with the planning and permitting of these new energy sources.
The Northeast is in dire need of new energy sources, given constant and significant increases in power consumption across the region and years of limited increases in power generation. Tech Environmental has worked with energy firms for decades. As wind energy has begun to grow its share of the market, we have been involved in over a dozen projects in New England and New York.

The most high-profile wind energy project in the region is the Cape Wind Project, a proposed 420 MW wind farm off the coast of Cape Cod. Tech Environmental provided comprehensive acoustical analysis for Cape Wind, ensuring that coastal communities and marine life would not be adversely impacted by noise.
Tech provided acoustic consulting to the Prattsburgh/Italy Wind project, another large wind farm in upstate New York, and our Managing Principal, Peter Guldberg (see below), recently provided expert testimony regarding sound levels in Prattsburgh. In addition, we are serving as an independent acoustic consultant to the Town of Cohocton, NY, studying potential sound impacts for the host community of a large wind energy facility.

The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative [MTC] has provided significant support to small-scale wind energy projects in Massachusetts, and Tech Environmental has assisted a number of towns with acoustic consulting support via MTC. These projects include a one-turbine project for the Town of Kingston, MA, a four-turbine project for the Town of Edgartown, MA, a one-turbine project for the Town of Scituate, MA, a two-turbine project for the Town of Fairhaven, MA, and a four-turbine project for the Town of Eastham, MA. We have also assisted private developers' small-scale wind energy projects in Cohasset, MA and Gloucester, MA.

Tech provided acoustic consulting support to the installation of a 600-kw wind turbine on the campus of the Holy Name Central Catholic High School in Worcester, MA. This turbine began operation in late 2008 and now provides most of the electrical energy for the school, with the balance of power sold back to the grid. This was the City of Worcester's first wind turbine!
The Hyannis Country Garden project in Hyannis, MA also allowed the client to develop an independent energy source and sell excess electricity back to the grid.
