White Plains AT&T Fuel Cells

SERVICE:

Sound Study

DESCRIPTION:

Tech performed acoustic modeling of five proposed Bloom Energy fuel cells to support an AT&T office building in White Plains, New York. The fuel cells convert chemical energy from natural gas into electricity, and reduce the building's electrical utility usage. The proposed location of the fuel cells was very near to the property line of a six-story condominium, which implied that sound mitigation measures would be required to meet noise limitations contained within the White Plains Code of Ordinances. CadnaA 3-D acoustic modeling software was utilized to calculate the sound level impacts of all proposed sound sources at the nearest property lines. The modeling software was further used to design the minimum sound barrier wall that would allow the equipment to be in full compliance with the local noise code.
