DESCRIPTION:

Tech recently completed an odor training course for the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency in Seattle, WA. Tech was selected to perform the training because of Tech's odor control experience and training performed for other state agencies such as MaineDEP in Augusta, ME and other county agencies such as the Allegheny County Health Department in Pittsburgh, PA. The training was necessary because of an increase in source separated organic waste odor from a composting facility that has increased capacity and has started accepting food waste. Tech explained the basics of odor formation from different organic wastes, and how to respond to odor complaints associated with these odors. Tech also provided a primer on odor control systems used in composting and food waste processing and how to determine whether the systems are functioning as designed.
