DESCRIPTION:

Tech staff were hired to provide a field assessment of current permit requirements and provide an updated strategy for permit maintenance, compliance record-keeping and new permit acquisition. Based on our detailed accounting of resort operations and assumed permit coverage requirements, Tech provided the client with a punch list of permit coverage areas that required immediate attention in the form of updating information, altering management practices or applying for coverage where none had been previously applied for.

Our guidance covered all ski and base lodge operations and came with a simple risk assessment on the timing to bring all facilities and site management practices into full compliance with standards. These standards incorporated air quality permitting, industrial stormwater management (SWPPP), process wastewater discharge, local land use, hazardous chemical management (Tier II), toxics use reduction (TURA), toxics use inventory (TRI), hazardous waste management programs and spill prevention preparedness (SPCC).
