Gated Residential Development with Package WWTP

Odor Study for Amphidrome System

DESCRIPTION:

A gated residential development utilized an Amphidrome packaged wastewater system, with tanks and sewers placed belowground beneath a golf course fairway. No odor control was initially applied to this system, and concerns later arose over potentially septic and odorous impacts.

Tech Environmental was retained to study the system and the odor concern. Tech met with the community's managers and the local Board of Health to discuss the concern, and studied the site to observe the odor picture and extent of impacts. Tech then presented possible odor control options, and toured stakeholders through other odorous sites that utilized various methods of control.

In a subsequent project, Tech Environmental prepared a full recommendation for an odor control system that took into account both the needs of the site and maximum cost-effectiveness.
