Air Quality and Noise Analyses

DESCRIPTION:

The Mass. College of Pharmacy needed air and noise studies to satisfy Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) requirements for the proposed construction of a new academic building.

Tech performed a microscale analysis using projected project traffic impacts to meet the BRA selection criteria so that the proposed development could move forward. The microscale analysis followed the latest Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) guidance and a modeling protocol for the analysis was prepared for the BRA. An analysis was also made of the potential noise impacts from the proposed project to demonstrate that the projected noise levels from the building's exterior mechanical equipment would not exceed specified City of Boston noise control criteria at the nearest residences and at the property line.
