Sound Study of Proposed Wind Turbines

DESCRIPTION:

The Silverleaf Resorts in the Berkshires needed a noise impact assessment on residentially-zoned land adjacent to a parcel where Berkshire Power planned to construct 10 wind turbine generators (GE 1.5 MW).  Given the quiet rural character of this area, the resort was concerned about potential noise impacts.

Tech conducted sound monitoring to determine the background ambient noise levels in the area.  Acoustic modeling was then performed for the proposed wind turbines using the Cadna-A model.  Expert witness testimony was performed as part of a deposition for the project.
