DESCRIPTION:

The Cooper Tank facility needed to complete air and noise analyses to satisfy New York City Department of Environmental Protection requirements. Tech Environmental met with the NYC DEP and prepared a protocol for modeling work on this project.

Tech conducted AERMOD dispersion modeling to determine the future build and no-build impacts from the facility. The air quality portion included a review and consideration of traffic around the facility as part of a microscale analysis. Tech also examined the future noise concerns including conducting sound monitoring and modeling future noise. After discussions with DEP and proposed mitigation measures, this project was given DEP authorization to continue.
