Criterion Development Residential Project

SERVICE:

Residential Noise Study

DESCRIPTION:

Criterion Development required a sound analysis for a proposed apartment complex. The project needed to ensure that the impacts of exterior sound within the apartment units would be below acceptable levels after habitation.

Tech documented the acoustic environment inside a vacant apartment unit to determine the net transmission loss and compare interior sound levels to the residential guidelines. This work was conducted to determine if exterior acoustic storm doors were needed to comply with the noise guidelines. The modeling results demonstrated that the project had been constructed to ensure a quiet and comfortable interior acoustic environment and that no mitigation would be necessary.
