Odor Investigation & Dispersion Modeling Study

DESCRIPTION:

The Lowell Regional Wastewater Utility needed an investigation of odor sources to support a proposed expansion. The facility retained Tech Environmental to perform the study and explore possible odor control options.

Tech Environmental met with LRWWU staff to review the plant's operations. Based on this meeting, a sampling plan was prepared. An in-depth sampling program was implemented; subsequently, Tech incorporated the sampling results for the plant and emission estimates from each potential source into a screening level dispersion modeling study.

Based on the study's results, Tech explored a series of odor control options for the LRWWU. The results were presented in a report and in meetings with LRWWU staff.
