Snow Grooming Fleet

SERVICE:

Biofuels Implementation and Program Compliance

DESCRIPTION:

In support of the Keep Winters Cool program, Tech Environmental staff managed the implementation of a Bio-diesel (B20) conversion project for the snow grooming fleet at Sugarbush Mt. Ellen. This grant-funded Pilot program included: confirming compliance with engine equipment warranties, developing and committing to segregated fuel storage facilities, new fleet maintenance records and a yardstick to measure the program's success.

Based on the overall success and leadership of this sustainability program, the project received the 2005 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence. The project results were presented at an inaugural Biodiesel Summit and was published in several ski industry publications.
