Sound Impact Analysis for Grocery Store

DESCRIPTION:

Wagner Engineering asked Tech to perform noise impact analysis for a proposed Super Stop & Shop in Torrington, Connecticut.  The purpose of the analysis was to demonstrate that the store would comply with the Torrington Area Health District (TAHD) Noise Control Regulation and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CT DEP) Noise Regulation.

Tech evaluated the existing background noise levels with daytime and nighttime noise monitoring.  Operational sources of noise were modeled to predict future sound levels at nearby residences.  Tech demonstrated that the future noise levels from the project would comply with the Town and State requirements if the loading docks were enclosed and sound barriers were constructed near the loading docks.
