DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental was contracted by the Ahead Corporation, a manufacturer of golf-related headwear and closest neighbor to the Crapo Hill landfill in Dartmouth, MA, to examine odor complaints as they arise and to develop proposed improvements for the landfill to adopt to increase landfill gas collection and therefore reduce fugitive odors.

Tech Environmental has responded to numerous odor complaints, measured hydrogen sulfide levels and "fingerprinted" the sources. Tech met repeatedly with the landfill's director, staff and engineers to consider landfill gas optimization alternatives.

Tech Environmental has developed and ranked technical alternatives for inclusion in a potential agreement between the landfill and has provided permitting consultation and a conceptual design of a possible fenceline sampling systems. The potential sampling system can confirm that the facility is meeting its agreed upon goals and give the facility the proper flexibility to operate and possibly expand nearby as it wishes.
