Valvoline Vehicle Emissions Study

SERVICE:

Vehicle Emissions

DESCRIPTION:

Tech conducted a review of air emissions from vehicles at an oil change facility in Woburn, MA. The data from a City of Woburn traffic study, including the carbon monoxide (CO) generated from peak hour traffic on Montvale Avenue was compared to idling emissions from vehicles on-site. Two on-site cases were analyzed, both of which assumed 30 vehicles in peak hour. The emissions from idling vehicles were shown to be much less than Montvale Avenue emissions. Oil-change facilities were shown to generate much less traffic than other uses that the site was approved for (I.e. fast food, gas station). Thus, project emissions were found to be minimal.
