DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental was retained by P&O Cold Logistics to study the potential for noise impacts due to trucking activity at residences located near the company's Taunton, MA refrigerated warehouse. To ensure that the community would be free from sound level and pure tone concerns, an extensive study was authorized to examine and address noise issues regarding the facility.

Tech engineers recorded onsite sound data and created computer models to reflect the sound conditions in the area around the warehouse. A variety of options for noise mitigation were developed, and each was modeled to determine its effect. Tech prepared a lengthy report that discussed potential noise impacts and the cost and effectiveness of six distinct mitigation options. P&O Cold Logistics implemented Tech's mitigation recommendations, addressing community concerns.
