The Big Dig (Central Artery/Tunnel Project)

SERVICE:

Rapid Response Noise Control Services

DESCRIPTION:

The Central Artery/Tunnel (CA/T) Project in Boston, also known as the "Big Dig", was the largest, most complex and most technically challenging highway project in American history, and one of the most expensive engineering projects of all time. Tech Environmental's staff members were certified by the Massachusetts Highway Department as Acoustical Engineers for the CA/T Project.

Tech Environmental staff provided rapid-response Noise Control Plans to three major contractors every six months, assisting them in identifying necessary noise barriers and source controls on equipment, as required by highway construction contracts. Tech Environmental also worked with the CA/T Project and the Massachusetts Highway Department to design a sound insulation program for highly-impacted residences in Boston's North End.
