SERVICE:

Air Quality & Noise Analyses

DESCRIPTION:

Air quality and noise analyses were performed for a draft Environmental Impact Review (EIR) for the Emmanuel College Development project in Boston. The air analyses consisted of an analysis of the indoor and outdoor impacts from three enclosed garages, a microscale analysis of four intersections, a mesoscale analysis, a construction air quality analysis, and an analysis of air emissions from combustion equipment.

The noise analysis consisted of an analysis of the potential sound level impacts from the mechanical equipment, located on multiple buildings, at the closest property line and residential receptors, and a construction noise analysis. Three 15-minute daytime noise measurements were taken on the campus. Due to the preliminary nature of the project design, design data for the project was very sparse.

Key Points

  • Tech performed air quality analyses for Emmanuel College that included a microscale analysis of four intersections, a mesoscale analysis, a construction air quality analysis and an analysis of emissions from combustion equipment.
  • Tech performed a noise study on the potential sound impact from mechanical equipment at the closest property line, as well as a construction noise analysis.
