1772Woburn Home Depot Mesoscale Analysis
SERVICE:
Mesoscale Analysis
DESCRIPTION:
A VOC and NOx mesoscale analysis was performed for a 130,000 square foot home improvement store (unofficially a Home Depot) in Woburn, across from the Woburn Mall. The analysis looked at the years 1999 and 2004. Washington Street, Mishawum Road, and Commerce Way comprised the primary focus area; a connector road to I-93 for the 2004 case was also included in the analysis.
The VOC emissions for the 2004 Build and No-Build cases were less than the existing VOC emissions. The NOx emissions for the 2004 No-Build and Build cases exceeded the existing NOx emissions, so mitigation was proposed to lower the emissions.
An analysis of the project without the connector road was also included in the appendix for the Enivornmental Impact Review for this project.
Key Points
- A VOC and NOx mesoscale analysis was performed for a 130,000 square foot Home Depot in Woburn, MA.
- VOC emissions for the 2004 Build and No-Build cases were less than the existing VOC emissions, while NOx emissions for the 2004 No-Build and Build cases exceeded the existing NOx emissions; mitigation was proposed to lower the impacts of future emissions.
