GM-Linden Cogeneration Project

Complete Environmental Permitting

DESCRIPTION:

Quixx Corporation, a subsidiary of Southwestern Public Service Corporation, developed a 23 MW cogeneration project to supply electricity, steam, and hot water to a major truck and sport utility vehicle assembly facility owned by General Motors in Linden, New Jersey. Tech Environmental was responsible for all environmental permitting associated with this project, including all technical analyses, public and agency meetings, permit negotiation, and hearings.

The required permits included a New Jersey DEP Level 4 (most comprehensive) Air Permit, FAA stack height notification (the site location is adjacent to Linden Municipal Airport), Elizabethtown Water Supply Permit, Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit, New Jersey DEP Treatment Works Approval, Industrial Stormwater Permit, and Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan Approval. Tech Environmental also provided a comprehensive noise survey/assessment and other regulatory analyses for historic/archeological and fish and wildlife approvals.
