AQ Study for Waterfront Development

DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental completed an air quality study during the development of the $180 million mixed-use Rowe's Wharf project on Boston's historic waterfront, including the Boston Harbor Hotel, known for its striking multi-story arch. The development also includes a marina, restaurants, a water transportation terminal, and a floating stage offering free concerts and movies during the summer months.

Tech Environmental's air quality studies included a microscale analysis of CO concentrations at three roadway intersections, as well as an analysis of the parking garage ventilation exhaust on pedestrian areas and on nearby fresh air intakes. All CO concentrations were projected to be in compliance with air quality standards. The EPA MOBILE-3 and Volume 9 models were employed with Halitsky's gas diffusion equations.
