Indoor Air Testing
DESCRIPTION:
Tech performed indoor air quality testing at a newly constructed Wal-Mart on Route 6 in Seekonk. Testing was done after hours (9:00 pm to 1:00 a.m.) to avoid disturbing Wal-Mart customers. The HVAC system was visually reviewed. An air velocity meter was used to measure air flow, temperature, and relative humidity at six of the air supply ducts serving six different rooftop units throughout the store. Levels of CO2, formaldehyde, and VOC were also measured throughout the store.
The survey found that the HVAC system was not supplying enough fresh air, the air in the store was too dry and quite warm, and CO2 levels were high. No formaldehyde or VOCs were detected.
