Distrigas LNG Marine Terminal

SERVICE:

Air and Noise Studies and Permitting Strategy

DESCRIPTION:

An expansion of the Distrigas Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Marine Terminal located in Everett, Massachusetts included the installation of two 1600 HP, gas-fired boilers for vaporizing LNG for transport or send-out from the facility. Tech Environmental prepared a Comprehensive Plan Approval (air permit) Application that was filed with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The air permit application included an evaluation of air emissions and Best Available Control Technology (BACT) as well as an analysis of noise impacts.

Tech Environmental also prepared the air quality and noise baseline and impact sections of a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Resource Report for the LNG Marine Terminal Expansion Project. The report included several other air permit applications for diesel generators and boilers located at the LNG Marine Terminal. For the Operating Permit Program, Tech Environmental conducted an emissions inventory and regulatory compliance audit. Based on the results of the inventory and audit, Tech developed a permitting strategy and prepared the Title V Operating Permit Application that was filed with the Massachusetts DEP.
